Fighting Fit magazine shoot with Trevor Wittman of Grudge Training Center

Comments Off Uncategorized

On Sunday, February 19th, Travis Conklin, Gabe Rovick and Britt Chester ventured out to the world famous Grudge Training Center to photograph some training techniques for Fighting Fit magazine based out of Britain, UK.

Along with author Bryan Schatz, Conklin, Rovick, and Chester all worked together in covering a variety of training faults and fixes that are used by the top UFC and MMA fighters around the world. From TRX training regimens, to upper-cut work-outs involving a medicine ball being tossed at a large pad, to the dreaded “ground'n'pound” technique used by Shane Carwin to defeat Brock Lessner in the heavyweight champion bo

ut, multiple options were offered by Grudge owner and coach Trevor Wittman.

Wittman, a former boxer with over 80 amateur fights under his belt, walked fighters through the proper techniques, from hand holds to foot placement, in seven different styles. While Conklin and Rovick were busy behind the lens and setting lights, Schatz interviewed the fighters and spoke with Wittman in great detail about the techniques.

Keep your eye peeled for the summer issues of Fighting Fit where the featured spreads will have all of the photos from the shoot. Keep your knuckles up.

On Saturday, January 28th, Focus 4 Design linked up with a rising local group of female emcees who perform
under the moniker Lady Wu-Tang. The purpose of the shoot was simple: Present portrait photographs that essentially capture the ladies in character as their respective Wu-Tang Clan rapper. Under the guidance of Gabriel Rovick and Travis Conklin, each member of the group took their place among the lights and rafters of City Hall Events Venue to each have a piec

e of themselves, and their persona, captured in a moment. As you can see, each artist channels their inner Wu, offering glimpses into the life of a performance artist and a true fan. The act mingled and chatted professionally and personally as each member made their way to the set.
